Obituary for Cora Trujillo (Garcia)
Cora Trujillo, 92, passed away at her home in Center, CO on December 30, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Cora was born on September 11, 1927 and raised in Monte Vista, CO by her parents Benito Garcia Sr. and Margarita Torrez-Garcia. During her time with us Cora lead an accomplished life serving as a President and lifelong member of El Coro de Santo Nino De Praga and raising nine children.
Cora was proceeded in death by her parents Benito and Margarita; son Richard Trujillo; brother Benito Garcia Jr.; sister Ernestina Garcia; and a grandson Max Trujillo II.
She is survived by her children Max Trujillo Sr. of San Jose, CA, Carma Trujillo of Alamosa, CO, Susan (Russ) Binicki of Tempe, AZ, Joyce (Felipe) Payan of Fabens, TX, Jack Trujillo of Center, CO, Grace (Richard) Wolf of Colorado Springs, CO, Margaret Trujillo of Center, CO, and Earl Trujillo of Center, CO; siblings Emma Sanchez of West Valley, UT, Barbara Albertson of Lancaster, CA, Eleanor Larsen of Magna, UT, and Isabel Jardine of Bountiful, UT; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous in-laws, as well as nephews and nieces.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Jerome in Center, CO on January 11th, 2020 at 10 AM. A Recitation of the Rosary will be on January 10th, 2020 at 7 PM also at St. Francis Jerome in Center, CO. Interment and a Committal Service will be held in the springtime at the Monte Vista Cemetery.
The Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hospice De Valle and At Home Healthcare for the wonderful care they provided Cora. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice De Valle.
