Obituary for Christopher James Marquez

ALAMOSA- Alamosa resident Christopher James Marquez, 62, died June 7, 2021 at his home in Alamosa.
He was born to Arthur and Theresa (Ortiz) Marquez on March 7, 1959 in Anaheim, CA.

Chris worked in construction his whole life retiring to Alamosa. He was a consummate perfectionist preferring to do it himself so it “Would be done right”. He was most happy when he was with his family creating memories on the boat, or at the racetrack. He was his Brother Alan’s best friend, and he loved his sister Debra very much. He was an amazing father to Taunya and grandfather to Codye and Maryah and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughter Taunya Marquez of Denver, CO; grandchildren Codye and Maryah Hoeft of Denver, CO; sister Debra Marquez of Alamosa, CO; Brother Alan of Alamosa, CO; sister-in-law Karol Marquez of Lakewood, CO; and niece Sophia Greenwood of Pueblo, CO; as well as numerous nieces nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bob Marquez.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 25 at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin, CO with interment to follow in the Capulin Cemetery.
