Charles Russel Baldwin passed away on October 15, 2017, at the age of 76, while under the care at Vistas Hospice in San Antonio, Texas.

Charles was born to Owen G. and Doris T. Baldwin in Lyon Colorado on April 13th, 1941 He is survived by his wife Norma Sullivan Baldwin; his daughters, Shaunna Terry of Austin, TX; Michelle Stevinson and her husband Paul of Littleton, CO. His grandchildren, Taylor and Alyssa Terry, Elizabeth, Catherine and Alex Stevinson; Norma’s children, son John Sullivan wife Geen and their two Sons Dylan and Adyen of Centennial Co., her daughter Albre Davis husband Matt their two children Ty and Lyla of Nampa, Id. He also is survived by his sister, Carolyn “Coie” Lorimer, and her husband Kirk of Gunnison, CO. His parents preceded him in death.

In his early years, Charles was known for his athletic prowess (especially on the basketball court) and was an alum of Alamosa High School, (year). After completing classes at Adams State College, Charles went on the become a successful rancher and entrepreneur whose business dealings included co/ownership of the John Deere dealership, several real estate developments in the San Luis Valley, La Junta, Trinidad and Colorado Springs areas.

Charles lived life without moderation. He was charitable with his time and money and would help anyone in need. He loved attending sporting events, and concerts. He was an avid collector of antiques, including cars, and he loved to attend Auctions. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and was known to be a master at poker. Although he moved to Canyon Lake, Texas in 2006 his heart was always in Colorado!

Charles is survived by his wife Norma Sullivan Baldwin; his daughters, Shaunna Terry of Austin, TX; Michelle Stevinson and her husband Paul of Littleton, CO. His grandchildren, Taylor and Alyssa Terry, Elizabeth, Catherine and Alex Stevinson; Norma’s children, son John Sullivan wife Geen and their two Sons Dylan and Adyen of Centennial Co., her daughter Albre Davis husband Matt their two children Ty and Lyla of Nampa, Id.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Inurnment of ashes will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery.

Contributions in his memory are suggested to CASA (“Court Appointed Special Advocates”) for Abused and Neglected Children at either www.colordocasa.org or www.texascasa.org . A gathering of friends and family will take place at Calvillo’s Mexican Restaurant 400 Main Street, Alamosa, Colorado 81101 following Inurnment.
