Obituary for Caleb Joshua Cook

Alamosa resident Caleb Joshua Cook, 39, died June 21, 2021. He was born in Alamosa, Colorado on August 15, 1981, the proud son of Allan and Ellen (Logan) Cook.

Caleb Cook, a father, son, brother, nephew and friend to many. Caleb loved to create and expressed his talent as a metal fabricator and recycled Steampunk Artist.

He was a custom metal fabricator for Alcon Construction and took great pride in his work. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter Logan. Caleb was a protective dad, funny and silly…loved his cats, and he enjoyed making custom recycled jewelry in his leisure time. Caleb always enjoyed a good laugh and liked to joke around making people smile. He watched for times he could be of help to others. Caleb also enjoyed caring for his home and taking care of his parents. “Dad is my best friend”.

Words cannot express our sadness and loss. Caleb will be missed.

He is survived by his parents Allan and Ellen Cook of Alamosa; his daughter Logan Cook; his siblings Rebecca (Brian) Rowe of Alamosa, Rachel (Jamison) Haponenko of Colorado Springs, CO; his nieces Jayda, Megan and Zoe; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.

Cremation was chosen and private services will be held at a later date. Rogers Family Mortuary is in care of the arrangements. To leave online condolences, remembrances, and words of comfort for Caleb’s family, please visit www.RogersFunerals.com or drop them by the family residence.

The tragic news of a suicide does not close a chapter in the lives of relatives and friends; it opens one – a chapter of mixed feelings of anger, sadness, sorrow and guilt. Only God can fully understand the role of mental sickness, extreme stress/anxiety, addictions and fear in a “suicidal crises”, which is not a “lifetime characteristic but often a matter of only minutes or of hours.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I well know the thought that I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah,” “thoughts of peace, and not of calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
