Obituary for Bill Butero

Bill  Butero
William (Bill) Butero passed away on December 8, 2015 at the Doak Walker Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado after a long battle of cancer. Bill was born in Pueblo, Colorado on April 24, 1952. He was a resident of Hoehne and attended Hoehne High School where he graduated in 1970. Bill enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1972 and served until 1977. While he was in the reserves he also worked for Ranch Manufacturing until 1978. In 1978 he went to work the Colorado Department of Highways/Transportation until his retirement in 2005. He was an avid sports fan, never missing any game that his kids competed in. He also loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed competing in bass tournaments all across the western United States. In his later years he enjoyed chasing after his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Pat Butero of Del Norte, his son JR (Ginger) Butero of Monte Vista, his daughter Shelly Butero (Keegan Thompson) of Steamboat Springs, brother Robert (Darla) Butero of Bayfield, Paul James Butero of Alamosa, sister Virginia (Fred) Manzanares of Pagosa Springs, grandchildren Annika, Zane and Quinn Butero of Monte Vista and many nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Paul Butero and Mary Owen.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:30 am at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center, 4700 Hale Pkwy, Denver, CO 80220.
