Obituary for Bertha Manuelita Roybal

Bertha Manuelita  Roybal
Monte Vista - Longtime Monte Vista resident Bertha Manuelita Roybal, 81, passed away on November 21, 2015 at the Monte Vista Estates in Monte Vista surrounded by her loving family.

Bertha was born on January 1, 1934 in Center, Colorado to Ralph Cordero and Sarah Garcia Cordero.

She was a kind and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. She enjoyed cooking and dancing. For as long as she could, she celebrated her birthday on New Years Eve by going dancing. She loved her Dallas Cowboys. Bertha was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was an active member of the Martha Society for many years.

Bertha is survived by her daughter Judy Lujan of Seven Mile Plaza, sons, Leonard (Edie) Sandoval of Colorado Springs, Jake Sandoval of Alamosa and John (Pat) Cordero of Monte Vista, Paul (Norma) Cordero of Monte Vista, step-daughters Louise (Dean) Sisneros of Monte Vista and Joyce (Henry) Vigil of Aurora, step-son Leon (Maggie) Roybal of Monte Vista, 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren as well as her sister, Darlene (Larry) Lujan and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family that loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Sarah Cordero, husband, Floyd Roybal, her brothers, Sam Cordero, Tony Cordero and Chris Cordero as well as her sister Della Cordero, son-in-law David Lujan, granddaughter Christina Cordero and grandson David Lujan-Roybal..

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 1, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A vigil service with recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday November 30, 2015 also at the church. Interment will follow services in the Monte Vista Cemetery.
