Longtime Center resident Baldamar “Walter” Eluid Martinez, 76, died August 30, 2014 at his home in Center.
Baldamar was born in Antonito, Colorado the son of Eli and Rose Lucero Martinez.
He worked for all his life as a Farm Laborer. He loved spending time with his family. Baldamar had a very creative mind and could create nearly anything with crafts. He also enjoyed playing card and board games and working on cars with his brother-in-law. Baldamar will be remembered for his good sense of humor and jokes.
He is survived by his companion Maria Angie Martinez of Center; his children David Paez of Pueblo and Mauricio Paez of Center; his brothers and sisters Esther (Talley) Garcia of Salt Lake City, UT, Corina (Jim) Casados of Denver, Elias (Janetta) Martinez of Pueblo, Jerry (Kathy) Martinez of Wheatridge, CO, Sylvia (Henry) Ortega of Greeley, CO, Emma Costello of Salt Lake City, UT, Susan (Rey) Sisneros of Clayton, NM, John Martinez of Alamosa and Melissa (Tom) Sanchez of Las Cruces, NM; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jim E. Martinez and Sammy Martinez.
Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Rogers Family Mortuary, 404 Morris St., Monte Vista, CO 81144.
