Obituary for Angie Marie Chacon

Longtime valley resident Angie Marie Chacon, 70, passed away on December 6, 2020 in Denver, Colorado. She was born on January 11, 1950 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Fermin and Mary (Lujan) Martinez. Angie grew up in Monte Vista and at the age of 16 she married Juvinal L. “Yondi” Chacon. Angie was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, often seen serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She was outgoing, always up for an adventure. Angie was a compassionate woman always ready to help anyone and was the foundation of her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Angie is survived by her children, Jina (Jim) Keller, Kimberly (Hugo) Munoz and Michael (Evelyn) Chacon as well as her grandchildren, Rafael (Daisy Juarez) Cereceres, Jared Keller, Joshua Keller, Adrian Chacon, Rogelio (Yaneisi Perez) Cereceres, Jace Chacon, her great grandchildren, Emilia Cereceres and Isabella Cereceres and her sister Louise Petros as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse and two sisters, Maryann Garcia and Sandra Lujan.

A private family Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa with burial following in the Monte Vista Cemetery.
