Obituary for Alfred Kline

Alfred Kline, 88, passed away March 15, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born November 10, 1930 to his parents Floyd and Gladys Kline. He married the love of his life Phyllis on December 12, 1954 in Monte Vista, CO. Alfred was a lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (B.P.O.E.) and a proud Naval Serviceman for 4 years. He retired from the Colorado State Patrol after serving as a dispatcher for 29 years. In his downtime, Alfred enjoyed outdoor activities like camping, hunting, and fishing. He was also an accomplished woodworker. Alfred spent time talking to his good friend Mary Ortega over the fence. Spent time helping his son Mike in his auto body shop.

Alfred is survived by his wife Phyllis; children Debra (Rick) McKeone, Jeff Kline and Mike (Cheryl) Kline; grandchildren Kristin McKeone, Joseph McKeone, Ashley (James) Kline, Lindsey Kline, Kyle Kline and Nikki Kline; great-grand children Kameron McKeone, Kaitlyn McKeone, James Martinez, Julia Martinez, Jaxson Kline, Jericko Kline, Briana McKeone and Jordan McKeone; sister Shirley Wilson; brother-in-law Merlyn (Mary Alice) Boss; sister-in-law Carol Rutgers; a special nephew Bill Wilson; a special niece Trish (Panda) Jones. He also leaves behind several other beloved nieces and nephews and a dear childhood friend Senator Lewis Entz.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Gladys Kline; step-mother Estella Kline; step-siblings Freda and Don Bucher and Karl Nielson; sister and brothers-in-law Valerie Kempf, Alfred Kempf, Robert Boss, Stan Howard, and David Wilson.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday March 22, 2019 at the Elks Lodge in Alamosa with burial to follow at the Alamosa Cemetery.
