Obituary for Albert Manuel Cordova

Long time Del Norte resident, Albert Cordova passed away on July 16, 2020. He went to meet his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving family.

Albert was born on May 3, 1942 in La Garita, CO. Born to John Cordova and Josephine (Pacheco) Cordova.
Albert was a very passionate worker, he spent many years working in the mining industry in Summitville and Nevada and he knew the value of hard work. He never gave less than his full effort for anything he was doing. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He was very proud of all his children. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, his macaroni twisters, spaghetti benders, cake and ice cream. When asked what kind of ice cream he wanted, he would say strawberry, lemon and lilac. Albert had a great sense of humor and had nicknames for everyone.

He is survived by his children, Rose Marie (Ron) Vanderpool, Monte Vista, CO, Joey (Danita) Sanchez, Colorado Springs, CO, Dolores (Paul) Atencio, Del Norte, CO, Racael (Wally) Gonzales, Monte Vista, CO, son-in law Michael Hales of Ogden, Utah, 17 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren, sisters, Corrine Gallegos and Nadine Cordova as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Josephine Cordova, wife Gertrude Cordova, Daughters Anita Duran and Joanne Hales, siblings, Margaret Woody, Christine Sanchez, Dolores Martinez, Sally Martinez and Stevie Cordova.

Cremation was chosen and a Rosary service will be held Friday July 31, 2020 at 7:00 pm at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday August 1, 2020 also at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista.
