Condolence: Dear Martha , yes I am late . but my thoughts are with you since I learned from IRRI that Nyle is no longer amoung us. We both know, in our age we have to be prepared for the last moment And still you have to make the experience yourself to understand what it means ..to be alone.I am a learner since Annemarie left more than 4 years ago... When I met Nyle first in the late 70ies I was deeply impressed by his sharp intellect ,his professional engagement, his frankness and his honesty. What I didn't forsee ,that your husband one day would become a friend , sharing with me very openly his view's not only about rice,IRRI and the CGIAR. I didn't agree with him all the time but I always valued highly his observations, and they helped specifically during the difficult years of change in Los Banos. Martha, I know what it means to loose a lifetime partner. But you should keep in mind we all who had the chance to come somewhat closer to him have lost a friend whom we will not forget. Dear Matha, I wish you God's blessings specifically in the months and years to come . very truely yours Klaus lampe

Condolence From: GELIA T. CASTILLO
Condolence: Dear Mrs. Brady and Family: Nyle Brady was someone whom I knew even before I got married when I was teaching American History at the UP Rural High School. Once in a while he would revert into calling me by my maiden name TAGUMPAY. His years at IRRI were eventful years when I knew him even better while I was at the University of the Philippines at Los Banos. Of course we all knew Bob Brady. Nyle got in touch with me when he was with USAID and game me some job to do for Philippine agriculture. He always had a heart for the Philippines and for agriculture. We will miss him but what he had done for agriculture and for rice will always be remembered. Dorothy and Donald were very young then and so was Carol. I don't know if you would still remember me but I certainly remember all of you.

Condolence: Dear Mrs. Brady and family, My sincere condolences to you all on the passing of Dr. Nyle Brady. Dr. Brady was the Director General during most of my years at IRRI (1970-1982). I remember his kind and helpful advice during those early years of my career as an entomologist. My children remember the Christmas parties hosted by the Bradys, and especially the gingerbread houses. I hope that you will keep on remembering all the good times you had together. Sincerely, Arnold Dyck

Condolence: Dear Mrs. Brady, My sincerest condolences to you on the passing of your husband. Your parties are a fond memory for me, as I could often hear chatter and laughter (especially my mother's) from my bedroom. I always looked forward to seeing your Wise Men go up at Christmas time. I suspect that this is a difficult time to lose someone you have spent so much of your life with, and I hope that you are surrounded by much love. Those of us who remember Dr. Brady from the 70s do so fondly. Peace, Lisa Herdt Morse

Condolence: I walk through the NCBL building daily that houses the PBGB division at IRRI and today, I am moved by the news of sad demise of such a great stalwart. We all remember him best for his wonderful soil science book that students globally used to read for their grad and under grad schools. His immense contribution to the rice community particularly at IRRI stands high. I pay my due respects and heartfelt condolences to his family members.

Condolence From: Wendy and Les Ballard
Condolence: It is said that we are to leave this world in a better position than you found it. I truly don’t know of a better definition that could epitomize Mr. Brady. It was with such heavy hearts we learned of the passing of Mr. Brady. Wendy and I had the pleasure of being neighbors of the Brady's for a number of years. In your lifetime you truly will only meet a few people that make that positive and lasting impact. You will never forget who they are and the Brady’s certainly fit that criteria. Mr. Brady and I had many conversations about life and I was blessed to hear of their travels and adventures they shared over the years. We know he will be sadly missed. Our love, condolences and prayers to Mrs. Brady and the family. Love, Wendy and Les Ballard

Condolence From: R. Wayne Shawcroft
Condolence: Brother Brady was one of my champions. I spent several years at Cornell Univ. and became acquainted with Brother Brady both in church and with the University. He was a kind man, and the most organized man that I have ever known. A champion of mine and his profession of soil science. My first text book in soil science was written by Nyle Brady. Little did I know that I would have a chance to associate with him personally while at Cornell. I sang with Don and loved Robert. Martha, we still make the chocolates that you taught Marian to make. Our love and condolences to all. Love, Marian and Wayne Shawcroft
