Obituary for James Stanley Eliot

Alamosa resident James Stanley Eliot, 81, passed away at his home in Alamosa on December 5, 2014.
James was born in San Buena Ventura, California on June 8, 1933 the son of Ralph and Phyllis Eliot.
James worked in the United States Navy as a Mechanical Engineer and retired following 20 years of service. During his time in the Navy he sailed all around the world, growing fond of the ocean. Following his time in the Navy he worked for the Rio Grande Railroad
He enjoyed anything that had to do with boats, ships, sailboats and trains.
He loved his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
James is survived by his children Cynthia Cruz of Tennessee, James Eliot of Denver, Dino (Geneva) Eliot of Northglenn; his step-children Roxanne Smith of Denver, Chris Gutierrez of Lakewood, CO, Johnny Salazar of Northglenn, Clifford Chang, Clarence “Sammy” Chang, Rosemary Yukota, and Michael Young, all of Hawaii; his grandchildren Robert Cruz, Dawn Enriques, Eliot Cruz, Joseph, Isaiah and Bella Elliot as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents and his sister Muriel preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen and private family services will be held at a later date.
