Lifetime Monte Vista resident Sharon Ilene Quintana, 66, died October 7, 2017 at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was born in Monte Vista, Colorado on February 15, 1951 to Sam Gallegos and Ruth Padilla Gallegos.

She was a homemaker and loved cooking for her family and neighbors. Sharon also enjoyed camping in the mountains and on occasion gambling. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.

Sharon is survived by her husband John Roger Manzanares of Monte Vista; her children Frank and Sarah Quintana of Castle Pines, Colorado and their children Mckenna, Malia and Madden; Terri and Scott Gorman of Poynette, WI and their children Wesley and Sidney; Shaun and Angie Quintana of Colorado Springs and their children Gwenyth, Allyson, Paxton, Calvin and Lauren; and Brenda and Dan Johnston of Rock Hill, S.C. with their children Ashley, Bennett, Amber and Jamesley; her brothers and sisters Jim (Maryann) Gallegos of Monte Vista, CO, Leonard Gallegos of Monte Vista, CO, Marvine Gallegos (Carolyn Roberts) of Alamosa and Eleanor Loya of Monte Vista, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of extended family and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Frank Quintana, Sr., her son Brian Quintana and her sister Geraldine Gallegos.

Cremation was chosen with a Recitation of the Rosary being held Wednesday October 11, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 also at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista.
